Hello, I'm Margaret!
50 years ago I sewed my first little baby dress. It was for my daughter. It wasn't perfect, but in every stitch I put all the love I had — and that's when I understood that sewing for a baby is different from sewing anything else. It's the first layer of love the world places on the skin of a newborn child.
Twenty-one years later, I sewed the christening gown for my granddaughter, Betina — the same girl who today tells this story to the world.
I crossed the world for my dream. I dressed babies from families I would never meet. In every piece, I thought about the same thing: that the child deserved to feel, on their own skin, the care I had poured into it.
Today, my hands are tired. The atelier is closing. These are the last pieces I will ever sew.
